Men 18 and up - do you like your lady/wife to call you "baby" or something like that?

My husband uses "baby" with me and I like it, but I never used it with him because, long story short, the guy I dated before him was his friend, and we would get together with him (my now husband) and his then girlfriend used that term frequently along with other fuzzy nicknames. His break with her was messy, and I chose to leave the terms she used to use out when I speak to him. But we've been together 7 years now... maybe it should have occurred to me sooner, but I've been studying psychology and am at a point where I wonder if I need to work on how I address him so that he will feel as special as I do when he uses an endearing term with me. Any ideas or suggestions?
