Why is he acting distant?

me nd this guy have known one another for a very long time. We hadn't seen each other or spoken in a while about a year or so until just not too long ago. After I saw him we started texting each other all the time and everyday. We also would say gnight and gmorning to each other. He asked me to see him a couple days ago and I did. We hung out and he acted like we were a couple he had his arms around me and was rocking me he was tickling me and it was just amazing. I thought for sure he liked me if he was doing all of that in front of all of his friends too! Later that night though, i started noticing his texts were coming across differently. I was getting vague answers and no smiley faces or calling me sweet endearing names anymore. That night he didn't even say gnight which was strange. I let it go thinking it was whatever but the next day we probably only sent each other 3 texts throughout the whole day which was extremely irregular and still not a lot of smiley faces or sweet nicknames like boo or baby. Nothing at all. He's a veryyyy busy person and i know that, but he was just as busy last week and found time to text me as much as he could. But ever since we hung out a couple days ago, he's been very different and i cannot figure out why. I've asked my friends what their opinion is and they can't figure it out either. I just don't understand it. I didn't say anything differently or out of the ordinary, so i have no idea what changed from during the day that we hung out to that night and right now. Please help me out hereee really like this kid and I know for a fact that he likes me too or he wouldn't have acted like he did when we were tg so something must have happened, but i need your opinions <\333
